Site Utilities (Storm and Sanitary Sewer)

From manholes to mains, we build storm and sanitary systems that pass tests the first time and align with your schedule

Built for our terrain. Delivered to your spec.
Davis & Sons installs gravity sewer, force mains, and storm drainage systems for public works, industrial sites, commercial pads, and private developments. We pair mountain-tested excavation with tight QA—so your utilities go in safely, pass tests, and line up with the rest of your sitework.

What we build

  • Sanitary sewer (gravity & force): SDR-35 PVC gravity mains, DIP/HDPE force mains; services, cleanouts, and precast manholes with watertight connections. Charlotte PipeASTM International | ASTM
  • Storm drainage: RCP/HDPE mains, inlets/catch basins, junctions, headwalls, and endwalls—coordinated with TDOT-style details where required. Tennessee State Government
  • Appurtenances: backflow/ARVs, frames & covers, rip-rap aprons, energy dissipation, and outfalls sized to your hydrology report.

How we build (the Davis & Sons way)

  1. Survey & layout – control, cut sheets, utility locates, traffic & safety plans.
  2. Trench safety – we slope, shore, or shield per OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Subpart P. OSHA
  3. Bedding & backfill – installation follows ASTM D2321 for thermoplastic pipe to control deflection and long-term performance. Plastic Pipe Institute
  4. StructuresASTM C478 precast manholes; proper bases, steps (if specified), resilient connectors, and grouted benches/channels. ASTM International | ASTM
  5. Testing & records – low-pressure air tests (ASTM F1417), mandrel/deflection checks where specified, vacuum tests on manholes, CCTV (when required). ASTM International | ASTM
  6. Surface & stormwater – tie-ins, restoration, erosion prevention & sediment control (EPSC) per the TN EPSC Handbook and your SWPPP. Tennessee State Government

Stormwater & compliance

  • We install storm systems to drawings and TDOT standard details (when applicable) and stabilize disturbed areas per the Tennessee EPSC Handbook—supporting your NPDES Construction Stormwater permit obligations. Tennessee State Government+1TNEPSC

  • Public works replacements & extensions
  • Industrial pads, logistics sites, and plant utilities
  • Commercial & multifamily developments
  • Roadway/utility corridors and subdivisions
  • Rehab & tie-ins to existing systems

Quality controls you can count on

  • Submittals & materials tracking mapped to plan sheets.
  • Air testing & mandrel checks for gravity sewer; manhole vacuum tests to spec. ASTM International | ASTM
  • As-built documentation for municipal acceptance and record drawings.
  • SWPPP/EPSC logs aligned with rainfall events and stabilization milestones. Tennessee State Government

Call to action

Ready to schedule utilities?

  • Request a takeoff review (pipe/structures, depths, testing, traffic plan).
  • Set a start date that aligns with your mass grade and paving windows.
  • Ask dispatch about pairing trucking and materials for tighter cycles.
